Bailey County Commissioners Court met in regular session in the Bailey County Courthouse on Monday, Nov. 13. Attending were County Judge Sherri Harrison, Precinct 1 Commissioner Gary Don Gartin, Precinct 2 Commissioner Mike Slayden, Precinct 3 Commissioner Cody Black, Precinct 4 Commissioner Juan Chavez and County Clerk Robin Dickerson, ex-officio clerk of Commissioners Court.
Minutes of the meeting on Oct. 30 were approved.
County bills were approved and payment ordered.
Treasurer’s Report for September 2017 was approved.
In-county travel forms were approved.
Slayden moved and Gartin seconded a motion to approve soil conservation worksheets in accordance with §201.151 of the Agriculture Code:
Cody Black $187.50
Motion carried with Black abstaining.
Commissioners reviewed department reports. There were no grant funds to certify and adopt for spending. Commission received Daily Equipment Inspection reports from precincts for the month of August.
A presentation by Matt Daniel of Ferroe, Poirot & Washington regarding opioid epidemic and information on the opioid litigation process was tabled until the next regular meeting.
Slayden moved and Chavez seconded a motion to appoint Gary Don Gartin to the Board of Directors of Bailey Central Appraisal District. Motion carried unanimously.
Sealed bids for Bailey County roofing projects were opened and discussed. The Commission considered a bid and authorizing payment accordingly for Engineer Greg Carrol. No other action was taken.

Commissioner’s Court to meet in special session
Bailey County Commissioner’s Court will meet in special session at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, in the Bailey County Courthouse. Agenda items include:
n Discuss the possibility of reenacting the Bailey County Burn Ban
n Canvass votes of Nov. 8, 2017, Constitutional Amendments Election
