
Richard “PAT” Barnett, was born Feb 2, 1932 in San Fernando, California to Charles and Elizabeth Barnett. In 1933 the family moved to Muleshoe Texas. Upon his graduation from Muleshoe High School Pat joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served in the Korean War. After being honorably discharged he became a commercial pilot and a certified flight instructor. Pat flew for Rutherford oil and gas as their corporate pilot before being hired by Continental Air Services Inc where he flew their first flight into Saigon. While flying in Vietnam he met and married Toan Vu his loving wife of over 55 years.
After an adventurous flying career Pat retired from Weyerhaeuser. Pat and Toan moved to Surprize, Arizona before making Reno, Nevada their final home.
He was preceded in death by two sons Minh Barnett, and Ricky Don Barnett.
He is survived by his wife Toan Barnett, his children Susan Barnett of Reno, NV; Cathy Barnett of FL; Scotty Barnett, Beverly Barnett Phillips and Steven Gregory Barnett, both of Clermont, FL.
Seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He his also survived by his brother Donald Barnett of Edmond, OK; sisters Barbara Elizabeth Pucket and Diana Stewart both of Texas.
Pat was an avid golfer and loved driving his motorhome all over the United States and parts of Mexico with his wife.
Pat will be missed by many friends and his loving family. He requested no funeral ceremony as he wanted to be remembered as the happy go lucky person he was.
