Lady Mules lose to Lady Rams 48-43

The Lady Mules came on strong in the final period against the Portales Lady Rams but fell a little short. Portales defeated the Lady Mules 48-43.
Anahi Barrera fought through a foul to score a hoop and completed the three-point play by dropping in the free throw. Yvonne Diaz scored in the paint, and Keely Dunham scored from the blocks and chipped in a free throw. The Lady Mules trailed 13-8 after one quarter.
Brianna Barron came alive in the second period with a driving layup and she added three charity tosses. Barrera dropped in a pair of free throws as did Diaz. Dunham completed a three-point play by scoring a hoop and then added the free throw. The Lady Mules trailed 20-25 at the intermission.

Barron, Barrera, Diaz, and Dunham made a hoop each in the third quarter. The Lady Mules had fallen behind 37-28 after three periods of play.
The Lady Mules worked the ball inside in the final frame with Diaz make four free throws and basket. Dunham completed a three-point play with a hoop and a free throw and then finished with a hoop. Kyndal Miller made a driving layup and Barrera dropped in a basket. The Lady Mules had outscored the Lady Rams 15-11 in the last quarter.
Dunham finished the night with 13 points, and Diaz dropped in 12 points. Barrera had nine points, Barron scored seven points, and Miller chipped in two points.
The JV Lady Mules also lost to Portales 30-16.
The Lady Mules hosted Denver City Tuesday night and are scheduled to play in the Abernathy Lady Lopes Invitational Tournament December 7-9. The Lady Mules will host the Littlefield Lady Cats in the district opener December 12.
