The bride that wed was Monica Castorena, who is the daughter of Joe and Cynthia Castorena of Plainview, Texas; granddaughter to Sylvia Castorena and the late Gilbert Castorena of Muleshoe, Texas and granddaughter to Maria Saiz and the late Dominico Saiz of Clovis, New Mexico.
Monica was accompanied by her matron of honor Melissa Gallegos from Clovis, New Mexico, along with her bridesmaids Amanda Romero, Candace Tonche, Jamie Garcia, Cristella Urrutia and Olga Flores.
The attire for Monica on her special day was a black lacy long-lengthened dress with peek-a-boo shoulders, shoes were gold flats and her veil was a handmade birdcage veil with gold broach and black lace tied gloves. You know the old traditional marriage saying “something old, new, borrowed or blue” – she wore her granpo’s black beaded rosary that was worked into her bouquet, new antique styled earrings, a borrowed ankle bracelet from a friend and a piece of blue receiving blanket from her child that was tied to the base of her bouquet.
Castorena is a 2002 High School graduate from Plainview High school and is employed at Brandon & Clark.
The groom of the beautiful bride Adrian Zapata is the son of Sammy and Dee Zapata of Plainview, Texas. Adrian was accompanied by his best man Aaron Zapata of Plainview, Texas along with his groomsmen Sonny Urrutia, Lorenzo Banda, Vicente Valles, Shannon Urrutia and Jose Miguel Castorena. Adrian is a 1997 High School graduate of Plainview High. Adrian is employed at the Dollar General.
After the ceremony the reception was held at El Salon in Plainview, Texas with the performance of DJ Benavidez. The food was served by both the new bride and grooms family, prepped by Cynthia Castorena.
Together the wedded couple resides in Lubbock, Texas… Congratulations you two on celebrating your matrimony!
