AMARILLO – The Military Families Learning Network’s Military Caregiving program will host a Jan. 24 Department of Defense webinar, “Rebalancing Work and Life: Be the Model.”
This and other webinars are offered through Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s Military Program to provide professional development and interactive resources for those unable to leave home for training, said Andrew Crocker, AgriLife Extension program specialist in gerontology and health, Amarillo.
The one-hour webinar will begin at 10 a.m. and is free and open to anyone interested, but registration is required. To join the session or for more information, go to https://learn.extension.org/events/3261.
“This workshop provides you with a framework for identifying and rebalancing your work and life priorities,” said Rachel Brauner, program coordinator with the agency’s Texas Military Program in College Station. “For example, people who take care of others often put everyone else’s needs first. But, by practicing and modeling great self-care, you can bring even more to your work and personal relationships.
“The tools you will gain in this workshop will help you see how the choices you make every day can bring more energy, happiness and appreciation to yourself and the people you are close with at work and at home,” Brauner said. “This allows you to model your ‘best’ self as you create your successful work-life balance.”
The presenter will be Dr. Bara Litman, a licensed psychologist, certified employee assistance professional and program manager at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Work-Life Center.
The MFLN Military Caregiving concentration will provide certificates of completion for participants interested in receiving training hours and one continuing education credit from the University of Texas School of Social Work.
