The Sudan Junior High girls’ basketball teams came away with three victories last Monday as they took on Bovina.
“The seventh grade girls started the night with a dominating performance, then the eighth grade continued the streak by running Bovina off of the floor,” the coach said. “Our White team then took the floor, and the girls controlled the game from tip to buzzer.”
The junior high girls had tournaments again this past weekend; the White team traveled to Sundown and the seventh and eighth grade teams were at Lockney.
“The White team was a little short handed, but managed to beat Plains in overtime, then dropped a close one to Sundown, losing by three points,” he said.
“The eighth grade girls — also short handed — had a rough tourney. They played Nazareth in the first game and could not get going.”
He added, “They played Slaton next, and had a much better effort, but lost a close one. The seventh grade girls continued their dominance, with very, very lopsided victories over Crosbyton and Slaton.”
The junior high girls hosted Lockney on Monday. Results were not available at press time.
