JV Tigerettes beat the Lady Mules 34-22

The JV Lady Mules stumbled out of the gate in Slaton against the Tigerettes Friday night and never recovered. The Tigerettes defeated the Lady Mules 34-22.
Kinsey Parker drove the baseline for a layup late in the opening period. Jordan Zapata made a charity toss. The Lady Mules trailed Slaton 11-3 after one quarter.
Parker chipped in a free throw to start the second period. Valeri Toscano, Joceline Ramirez, and Anna Phillips scored a basket each. Daniela Moran added two charity tosses. The Lady Mules trailed 14-12 at the half.
Phillips scored from near the blocks to open the third period. Valeria Carreaga made a short jumper. The Lady Mules trailed 24-16 with one period left to play.
Toscano chipped in a free throw early in the final period. Parker made two from the charity line. Ramirez scored from near the elbow and later chipped in a free throw.
Parker and Ramirez led the Lady Mules with five points each. Phillips added four points, and Toscano dropped in three points. Moran made two points, and Zapata chipped in one point.
The Lady Mules hosted the Friona Maidens Tuesday evening and traveled to Shallowater to play the Fillies.
