Bailey County Commissioners Court met in regular session in the Bailey County Courthouse on Monday, Jan. 22.

Attending were Precinct 1 Commissioner Gary Don Gartin, Precinct 2 Commissioner Mike Slayden, Precinct 3 Commissioner Cody Black, Precinct 4 Commissioner Juan Chavez and County Clerk Robin Dickerson, ex-officio clerk of Commissioners Court.

County Judge Sherri Harrison was absent.

All motions carried unanimously.

Minutes of the previous meeting on Jan. 8 were approved.

County bills were approved and payment ordered.

The treasurer’s reports for November and December 2017 were approved.

Departmental Reports were reviewed.

Black moved and Chavez seconded a motion to table authorizing the County Judge to sign Contract for Inmate Psychiatry Services for Bailey County and James Avery Rush IV, MD, PA (Sandra Bland Act).

Chavez moved and Gartin seconded a motion to ratify Judge Harrison’s signature on the Commercial Contract for Improved Property to purchase the property located at 1315 West American Boulevard, Muleshoe, Texas 79347.

Black moved and Gartin seconded a motion authorizing Judge Harrison to sign closing documents to purchase the property located at 1315 West American Boulevard, Muleshoe, Texas 79347 and have County Treasurer Shonda Black obtain a cashier’s check in the amount of $46,785.23 (check includes the back taxes owed of $7,922.73, and the County will receive a refund from some of the taxing entities.) The total purchase price with closing costs is $54,785.23.
