The JV Mules came up short in their final game of the season in Idalou against the Wildcats. Idalou won the game 36-24.
Derek Barron sank a 15-foot jumper to put the Mules on the board. Bryan Ginez scored from near the blocks. The Mules trailed Idalou 13-4.
The Mules picked up their pace in the second period. Ricky Diaz dropped in a short jumper to open the quarter. Brian Cruz scored from near the elbow, and Kelan Florez chipped in a pair of charity tosses. Ginez made a charity toss before Diaz picked a Wildcats pocket and drove for a hoop.
The Mules trailed 23-13 at the half.
Diaz opened the second half with a layup. Josh Cardenas scored from the baseline, and Nick Dominguez scored from 18 feet. The Mules trailed 32-19 with eight minutes left to play.
Ginez scored from the blocks to open the final period. Leonel Camarena made a hoop from the paint. Florez chipped in a free throw.
Diaz led the Mules with six points. Ginez finished with five points. Florez added three points. Barron, Cruz, Dominguez, Cardenas, and Camarena chipped in two points each.
