An 18-year-old man is dead, three people were injured, two hospitalized for injuries and another for shock following a stabbing at Our Place Community Center in Littlefield a little after 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 21.
Angel Uolla, 18, entered the Center where GED classes are offered and stabbed Norma Jean Bartley, 75, a GED teacher, Oneida Lopez, 38, and Omar Flores, 18.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Littlefield police officers responded to the scene and located Uolla approximately two blocks from the Center, still armed with a knife. The suspect refused verbal commands to drop the knife and was shot by an officer. He was later pronounced dead.
Bartley was airlifted in critical condition to University Medical Center in Lubbock.
Lopez, who was stabbed multiple times, was hospitalized at Lamb Healthcare Center in Littlefield, where Garcia was also hospitalized suffering from shock. Flores declined medical treatment for a neck laceration at the scene.
Ashley Villafranco, ER tech, confirmed Tuesday that Lopez and Garcia have been released from Lamb Health Center.
Messages were left at UMC, but as of press time, no callback had been made on Bartley’s condition.
Uolla was a GED student at the Center, according to reports.
