The Muleshoe High School tennis team participated in the Floydada Whirlwind Invitational Tennis Meet that was held at Plainview.

Luke Leal won the silver medal in Boys Singles. He defeated Motley County 6-0, 6-0 in his first match. Leal then defeated Floydada 6-0, 6-3 in his second match. Canadian defeated Leal in the championship round 0-6, 3-6.

Sofia Sianez and Anghy Avilez earned the consolation medal in Girls Doubles. The team lost to Olton 6-8 in the opening match but bounced back to defeat Plainview Christian Academy 8-6 in the second round. They defeated Abernathy 8-3 in their third match and Nazareth 9-7 for the medal.

Aron Chacon lost to Abernathy 6-8 in his first match and was eliminated by Olton 8-6. Ricardo Torres defeated Abernathy 8-4 and then was eliminated by Floydada 3-6, 4-6.

Isaac Mendoza and Romeo Reyes lost to Olton 2-8 in the first-round of Boys Doubles. They won a tie-breaker over an unknown team 9-8, (10-3). Kobe Gutierrez and Kevin Chavez lost to Olton 2-8 in their first-round match and fell to Plainview Christian Academy 7-9 in the second round.

Cassidy Cage defeated Motley county 9-7 in her first round match in Girls Singles. She lost to Olton 2-6, 1-6 in the second round.

Yvonne Diaz and Natalie Diaz lost to Canadian 0-8 in the first round but bounced back to defeat PCA 8-1. Nazareth eliminated the Diaz and Diaz Girls Doubles team 7-9.

Liliana Barrera and Jacob Kettner defeated Floydada 8-1 in the first round of Mixed Doubles. The team lost to Nazareth 4-6, 6-3, 11-13. Hallie Myatt and Corbin Hardwick defeated Floydada 8-3 in the open round but lost to Canadian 3-6, 0-6.

The MHS tennis team played in their final non-district tournament, Monday, March, 26, in Littlefield. The District 2-3A Tournament will be held April 6 and April 7 at Plainview.
