The Mules went down swinging Monday evening in Slaton. The game was shortened by the run-rule as the Tigers defeated the Mules 13-1.

The Mules went in order through the first three innings and scored their only run in the top of the fourth inning. JoJo Rejino lined a one-out single to right field in the fourth inning. Moises Vasquez sent a ground ball through the gap to advance Rejino to second base.

Riley Kettner dropped a fly ball in shallow left field to load the bases with just one out. Kelan Florez reached on a fielder’s choice that forced Kettner out a second and scored Rejino from third. Florez attempted to steal second base and was thrown out for the final out of the inning. The Mules trailed 9-1 after three and a half innings.

Slaton sent eight batters to the plate in the bottom of the fourth inning to add four runs. Slaton scored 13 runs on nine hits and left five on base.

The Mules recorded one run on three hits and left two on base. Seven Mules struck out.

The Mules hosted the Littlefield Wildcats Tuesday evening and will travel to Shallowater Friday, April 13. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
