The Muleshoe High School track team qualified eleven athletes in ten events for the Region I Track Meet at the Area Meet held at Tulia April 17. The Region I Class 3A Track Meet will be held at the Abilene Christian University Track and Field Stadium April 27 and 28.

The top four places in each Area event qualified for the Region I Meet.

Liliana Martinez was the first to qualify by winning the gold medal in the 3200-meter run with a time of thirteen minutes and three seconds. Eduardo Pantoja finished sixth in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:58.64.

Keely Dunham won the silver medal in the discus with a throw of 106 feet and one inch. Carlos Meza had a bronze medal throw of 138-10 in the discus. Isaac Mendoza made bronze medal leap of 6-00.00 in the high jump. Corbin Hardwick cleared 5-06 for eighth place in high jump.

Michael Lozano ran a silver medal time of 2:05.05 in the 800-meter run. The 4×200-meter relay team of Elizalde, Barrera, Regalado, and Miller qualified fourth with a time of 1:50.48.

Romeo Reyes earned the bronze medal in the 400-meter run with a time of 52.39. Reyes also placed eighth in the 200-meter run with a 23.91.

Martinez won the silver
medal in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:55.08.

Ethan-Clapp Gonzales ran a bronze medal time of 4:56.63 in the 1600-meter run.

The 4×400-meter relay team of Barrera, Regalado, Elizalde, and Miller finished fourth with a time of 4:14.68.
