The regular meeting of the MISD Board of Trustees was held Monday, July 16. Six of the trustees and Coach Lee Walker attended the meeting.
School begins on Tuesday, Aug. 21, and that will also be Meet the Mules night at the newly refinished Muleshoe High School Gymnasium. The board reviewed the Guardian Plan for Muleshoe ISD. The Guardians have been vetted through psychological evaluations, tactical and shooting trainings, and a license to carry.
The board is planning an HB 1566 Training “Evaluating and Improving Student Outcomes” on August 23. The board also reviewed the Back to School Agenda and signed thank you notes to the First Baptist Church of Muleshoe and the First United Methodist Church at Muleshoe for providing luncheons for the staff as they come back to school. The board reviewed some recent transportation issues from Texas Education Agency and sent a letter to Commissioner Mike Morath.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved. The board accepted the resignation of Stephanie Lowery, a junior high teacher/coach, and hired Sara Weise for an elementary position at Dillman.
