Congratulations to the South Plains Fair champions

The Burrus family from Muleshoe showed the Grand Champion Dairy Heifer at the South Plains Fair in Lubbock. This family has worked diligently to make all of this work.
We congratulate all of our 4-H and FFA students for their work with their animals. Showing animals develops character and citizenship skills. we thank all the families that are representing Muleshoe is tremendous ways.
And to win the entire show at Lubbock is a BIG DEAL!  Congratulations to all, especially the Burrus family.

Shelby’s Bridge offers home décor, fresh food and opportunities for friends

Those who came to Shelby’s Bridge for the Grand Opening on Saturday did more than make purchases. They offered hugs and encouragement to proprietors and friends.
Shelby’s Bridge in Sudan is a nonprofit gift and thrift shop, the brainchild of Shelby Leopold. Leopold, who taught special education for 10 years, saw a need for adults with disabilities who had left high school to keep up their skills by helping to run a retail store.

Competition was incentive for speedy Rubik’s cube solver

Oscar Cabrera, a freshman at Muleshoe High School, is blazing fast at solving a Rubik’s cube puzzle. Yet Oscar says that solving the famed cube is not all that hard.
“It’s not an intelligence test, and it’s not that hard to solve,” Oscar said. “Five- and six-year-old kids can learn to solve them.”

County Commissioners adopt budget for FY 2019

Bailey County Commissioners Court met in regular session in the Bailey County Courthouse on Monday, Sept. 10. Attending were County Judge Sherri Harrison, Precinct 1 Commissioner Gary Don Gartin, Precinct 2 Commissioner Mike Slayden, Precinct 3 Commissioner Cody Black, and County Clerk Robin Dickerson, ex-officio clerk of Commissioners Court.
Precinct 4 Commissioner Juan Chavez was absent.
All motions carried unanimously.

Staff presents Common Sense Planning to MISD Board
