You’ve read some of the stories from The Bright Lights of Muleshoe in the Muleshoe Journal. Now own the book!
Alice Liles has turned selected stories from her blog The Bright Lights of Muleshoe into a book. Begun in 2009, the blog celebrates the history and eccentric characters that make Muleshoe special. Stories about what makes West Texas its own original place and the popularity of football come to life as it all comes together in entertaining stories. Escapades remembered from Liles’ days teaching at Muleshoe High School reveal the antics teachers and students experienced that didn’t always fit the curriculum, but made school an inviting place to learn and teach.
Illustrated with over 200 full-color photographs, each story has been carefully documented for accuracy and authenticity to make the book a fact-filled guide to what goes on under those bright lights and will be a permanent record of the stories that have become legend in the town. An index is provided for quick access to people and events found in the book.
Muleshoe may be the common thread that holds the stories together, but you don’t have to be from Muleshoe or West Texas to relate to the people you will meet, the history you will learn, and the stories that will make you laugh as you read.
