The Watson Junior High 8th grade Mules football team lost a close one Thursday night in Idalou, against a tough Wildcat run based team. The game remained at 0-0 until late in the second quarter when the Wildcats were able to score with 3:56 left in the first half. The Mules were able to put up a six play drive but were stopped when quarterback Irvin Torres would throw an interception leaving the Wildcats taking over with 1:11 left to play before halftime.

The Wildcats were able to score in less than a minute; the Mules make it to the half trailing the Wildcats; 14-0. The third quarter would be another defensive battle between the two teams leaving no points in the third until the fourth quarter. The Wildcats find the end zone once more bringing the score 20-0. The Mules would not go quietly into the night. They put together back to back drives with both resulting in touchdowns; running back Frankie Reyes used his legs and running back moves to make both scores and two-point conversions. Reyes owned all points for the Mules on the night ending the game with the final score Wildcats 20, Mules 14.
The Mules will face the Dimmit Bobcats next Thursday night October 4, 2018 on our home territory.
