The Watson Junior High School Cross Country teams were invited to the 15th Annual Canyon Invitational meet held Saturday September 29, 2018 located at the Canyon High School. Both girls and boys competed in a two mile run. The junior high girls had two runners that finished in the top twenty each receiving a medal, in tenth place Idaly Tarrango finishing with a time of 13:27 and Zabry Haseloff finishing fourteenth with a time of 13:37, Aliyah Sanchez following right behind with a run time of 13:54, and Yvette Benavidez not far behind with a time of 14:05. The times of the remaining runners are as follows; Angelina Armijo; 14:08, Mikaela Haseloff; 14:35, Alejandra Medina; 14:42, Julianna Diaz; 15:22, Andrea Rodriguez; 15:32, Araceli Diaz; 15:42, Naomi Tinajero; 17:06, America Pantoja; 17:56, Reyna Garcia 18:13, Alize Rodriguez; 20:47, Marianna Zaragoza; 20:47, and Payton Critchley 20:57. The girls finish as runners up.
The junior high boys had three runners in the top twenty with two boys receiving a medal each; Jeremiah Estraca with a run time of 12:06 finishing 9th and Jesse Torres finishing 12th with a time of 12:12, Donovan Gonzales following right behind in 18th place with a time of 12:31. The times of the remaining runners are as follows: Eliasar Cisneros; 12:51, Irvin Torres; 13:01, Jose Gomez; 13:03, Donovan Alfaro; 14:09, Davian McMullen; 14:35, Noah Cantu; 14:39, Adam Alarcon; 15:11, Ezekiel Villareal 15:17 and Tate Shipman; 16:51.
The Junior High teams will run at Amarillo Thompson Park on Monday October 8, 2018.
They will compete in the District 1-3A meet.
