2018 Halloween Coloring Contest

Muleshoe Journal is hosting a Halloween coloring contest.

Rules: Choose a picture to color and submit to Muleshoe Journal at 201 W Ave C. You can mail in your entry to P.O. Box 449 Muleshoe, TX 79347. Entries must be recieved by Monday, October 29th. Winner will be chosen & awarded a gift basket filled with treats on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

Bigger than Football

On Friday, the annual “War of 84” was played between two rivals Littlefield and Muleshoe. The Booster Clubs from each school had a friendly competition to see who could sell the most shirts for the annual football game with the proceeds going to Matthew Alarcon. Matthew is a junior at Muleshoe and a varsity football player. He was diagnosed with a mixed germ cell pineal brain tumor in April and has been in the hospital since June recovering from complications of brain surgery.

Mule Days and Kickin’ Nights Concert Committee Donates

President John Saylor, Jackie Claborn, Colt Ellis, Jackson Myers and Todd Shipman, The Mule Days and Kickin’ Nights Concert Committee presented Judy Coffman, director of Bailey County Office of Aging with $7,125 that was recently raised from the second annual concert to benefit Muleshoe Meals on Wheels. Pictured with Judy are Robin Dickerson, David Gray, Becky Hoksbergen and Gayle Richardson.

City approves appointment of election judges for Nov. 6 Special Election

The regular meeting of the Muleshoe City Council was held Monday, Oct. 8, at City Hall. Unofficial minutes follow.
Present were Mayor Clint Black; Mayor Pro-Tem Colt Ellis; and council members Earl Behrends and Lupe Mendoza. Council member Gary Parker was absent.
