The Junior Varsity Muleshoe Mule team traveled to Littlefield, Texas to face off in a tough back and forth fight with the Littlefield Wildcats last Thursday night. The battle resulted in a 24-24 tie. “The guys played hard and did very well.” stated Coach Steven Butler, “They made huge strides from pre district.”Sophomore quarterback #2 Joe Gutierrez passed 3/2 for 45 yards with one passing touchdown and would also rush ten times for 16 yards and one rushing touchdown.
Sophomore running back #24 Mario Guardado rushed 15 times for 148 yards with a rushing touchdown and a successful two-point conversion run. Sophomore wide receiver #7 Leonel Belmonte had one catch for 32 yards and a touchdown. Sophomore wide receiver #4 Cesar Enriquez had a catch for 13 yards. Freshman running back #21 Jeremiah Barron rushed five times for three yards and a reception for eight yards with a successful two point conversion. Freshman quarterback #13 Zach Hasley threw 5/1 for eight yards and one interception.
The JV Mules will host the Shallowater Mustangs here at home next Thursday night October 18, 2018 at Benny Douglas Stadium.
