Commissioners discuss ditch line placement, soil conservation

Bailey County Commissioners Court met in special session 11 a.m. Nov. 26 at the Courthouse.
Present were County Judge Sherri Harrison, Precinct 1 Commissioner Gary Don Gartin, Precinct 2 Commissioner Mike Slayden, Precinct 3 Commissioner Cody Black, Precinct 4 Commissioner Juan Chavez and County Clerk Robin Dickerson, ex-officio clerk of Commissioners Court.
Gartin moved and Chavez seconded a motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting on Nov. 13. Motion carried unanimously.
Slayden moved and Chavez seconded a motion to review, approve and order payment of county bills. Motion carried unanimously.
Departmental reports were reviewed.
Chavez met with Lead Field Engineer Daniel Gelher of Blue Cloud Wind Farms and discussed not placing culverts in the ditch line, unless deemed necessary by Black and McDonald, to ensure proper ditch flow on the Blue Cloud Wind Farms new access roads.
There were no Soil Conservation Worksheets for approval. Bailey County Attorney Jackie Claiborne discussed Soil Conservation Worksheet, description, type of conservation work and items to be listed in the minutes.
Gartin moved and Slayden seconded a motion to table approval of Treasurer’s Report for October. Motion carried unanimously.
Slayden moved and Harrison seconded a motion to table approval of year-end FY18 Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried unanimously.
Harrison moved and Slayden seconded a motion to table adopting Resolution in Opposition to unfunded mandates. Motion carried unanimously.
Chavez moved and Slayden seconded a motion to reject the timely sealed bid for Surplus Sale. Motion carried unanimously.
