Graveside service for Laila “Joyce” Williams, age 85, of Lubbock, Texas and formerly of Muleshoe, is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Muleshoe Memorial Park with Arlano Funderburk of Levelland, Texas officiating. Joyce died Sunday, December 16, 2018 in Lubbock. She was born March 29, 1933 in Muleshoe, Texas to Henry and Laila Juanita (Jackson) Scarbrough. She married Billy Frank Williams in Muleshoe on September 17, 1949.
Joyce was a homemaker and an avid reader. She also loved playing games with her grandchildren. Joyce was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Muleshoe. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy in 1991; her parents; two sons, Billy Don Williams and Terry Williams; a sister, Patsy Evans; and a brother, Wayne Scarbrough.
Joyce is survived by her son, David Williams and his wife, Carol of Goldthwaite, Texas; her daughter, Peggy Williams and her husband, Wendell of Lubbock, Texas; her sister, Janet Hayes of Harlingen, Texas; her three brothers, Jim Scarbrough of Naples Florida, Robert Scarbrough of Sarasota, Florida and Dick Scarbrough of Ft. Worth, Texas; eleven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
