LUBBOCK — During the annual meeting of the National Ranching Heritage Association, the membership elected TOM WATSON, rancher from Muleshoe, President of the organization. BEDFORD JONES, rancher from Spur, was elected Vice President, and MARK KIRKPATRICK, rancher from Post, was elected Secretary/Treasurer.
The National Ranching Heritage Center, located on the campus of Texas Tech University, is a museum and historical park consisting of 50 historic ranch structures. The site is open to the public.
The Ranching Heritage Association’s purpose is to support the Center in its mission: preserving and interpreting the history of ranching in North America and addressing contemporary ranching issues.
