The cold weather months can be kind of tough sometimes. We often want to just be lazy, sit around and keep warm. By keeping yourself busy, keeping your mind working, and body moving, you will find the winter goes a lot faster and for some reason—you suddenly feel a whole lot better. Our Valentine’s Dance last Friday was just one example of the activities our seniors ENJOY. What a success it was! Old and young alike came out to celebrate.
The center provided three one hundred dollar bills as door prizes. The lucky winners from the drawing were: James Mason from Muleshoe — the oldest dancer at age 92; Eva Godinez, the youngest dancer at age 7 from Muleshoe, and Pat Bailey also from Muleshoe.
We work diligently at the center to provide healthy meals, and lots of activities to keep life exciting, interesting and enjoyable for our participants. We are pleased to announce that we have added a part-time activity director to help us in this endeavor. Janis Morrison, who served for fifteen years as activity director at our Park View Nursing Home, is that person. We feel very fortunate to have her join our staff. You are always welcome to come to our center and see what we have to offer.
You might be surprised to see what is involved i.n “Keeping Up with Our Seniors.”
This Friday, February 22nd at 11:30 a.m., James Edgar from Air Med Care Network will present a program during the lunch hour for all participants at the Senior Center. Air Med Care is America’s largest medical membership network. If you or a family member experience a life threatening emergency, their alliance of air ambulances can provide medical transport- – dramatically reducing travel time to an emergency treatment center.
