The Muleshoe Art Association took a road trip to Amarillo for their March meeting. Ten members met on the morning of March 5th and drove to Amarillo to visit the Kenneth Wyatt Art Studio and the Amarillo Museum of Art.
Members enjoyed viewing new work by Kenneth Wyatt and made some purchases as well. This one is typical of the Western motif seen in many of Wyatt’s paintings. The group then enjoyed lunch at the Blue Sky restaurant.
After lunch, the group traveled to the Amarillo Museum of Art located on the Amarillo College campus and enjoyed viewing several exhibits on the three floors of the museum, including this very large painting by artist Frank X. Tolbert.
Members then held an informal business meeting in one of the museum conference rooms. Topics discussed included painting classes at the Oneita Wagnon Senior Center and details concerning the upcoming art show in April.
The meeting was adjourned and the group traveled home.
Members who enjoyed the trip included guest Joella Flowers, Mike Jones, Kay Hohes, Dianne Brown, Ann Johnson, Melba Bratcher, Sandra Chancey, Sandi Chitwood, Shirley White, and Alice Liles.
