Bailey County Commissioners Court met in regular session at 10 a.m. Monday, March 11, at the Courthouse.
Present were County Judge Sherri Harrison; Precinct 1 Commissioner Gary Don Gartin; Precinct 2 Commissioner Mike Slayden; Precinct 3 Commissioner Cody Black; Precinct 4 Commissioner Jim Daniel; and Deputy County Clerk Robin Dickerson, ex-officio clerk of Commissioners Court.
Slayden moved and Black seconded a motion to approve the minutes of the meetings on Feb. 25. Motion carried unanimously.
Daniel moved and Slayden seconded a motion to approve and order payment of county bills. Gartin abstained from West Texas Gas bills. Motion carried.
Black moved and Daniel seconded a motion to approve the County Treasurer’s Report for January 2019. Motion carried unanimously.
Departmental reports were reviewed, including the Andrews County Contract.
Gartin moved and Daniel seconded a motion to approve the following soil conservation worksheets in accordance with §201.151 of the Agriculture Code.

Daniel moved and Slayden seconded a motion to authorize County Judge to take applications for County Depository. Sealed bids will be opened on Thursday, April 4.
Daniel moved and Gartin seconded a motion to purchase a 2019 John Deere motor grader for Precinct 4. Motion carried unanimously.
Black moved and Daniel seconded a motion to purchase a 2013 John Deere front end loader for Precinct 3. Motion carried unanimously.
Slayden moved and Gartin seconded a motion to approve TxDOT placing “Burn Ban in Effect” signs at the county lines. Motion carried unanimously.
Commissioners discussed and considered giving county employees a discount to rent the Coliseum. No action was taken.
Gartin moved and Slayden seconded a motion to approve Bond #72121985, $2,500 for Jackie Claborn, County Attorney. Motion carried unanimously.
Black moved and Slayden seconded a motion to approve FY18 County Audit as presented by John Merriss, Dosier, Pickens & Francis, LLC Certified Public Accountants. Motion carried unanimously.
