Warmest greetings to all Muleshoe Fans! It is that time of year again to get that 2019 Muleshoe Journal Football Contest started! I hope you all had a great break and ready to get this contest rolling! Muleshoe Varsity traveled to Dalhart his past Friday to take on the Dalhart Wolverines, our Mules fell short of the win, but it’s okay, we still have plenty of room for improvement throughout this football season. The score was Mules 0, Dalhart 47 making to total tie breaker score a whopping score of 47. Unfortunately, a tie breaker score was not needed to tally our weeks winner- 1 out of 25 players selected all five games correctly!
Our Week 1 winner of the Muleshoe Journal Football Contest goes to Alma Orozco! Congratulations Alma! You selected all five game choices correct! The one game that got almost everyone was the game against Littlefield and Snyder. A lot of our players selected Snyder to win but Littlefield came out on top at the end. It was a great selection of games for Week One- don’t you think?
Our standing as of right now are Alma with the lead of 5, following behind her with scores of 4 are Shelbi Harrison, Sherri Harrison, Debbie Weir, Zedrek Herrera, Devnie Orozco, Patti Waggoner, Belen Garza, J.C. Orozco, Micky Orozco, Richard Orozco, Roel Moran, Butch Green, and Jesus Guerra. Those with a score of 3 are William Orozco, John Paul Garza, Jesse Waggoner, Kristina Vargas, Joe Vargas, and Jan Smith. Those with a score of 2 and below are Joseph Gonzalez, Randy Waggoner, Joshua Garza, Melissa Moran, and William Gromowsky. I encourage you all to continue to play each week to catch the top leader. Anyone can still have a chance to come out on top- even those that are on the bottom.
Just a reminder, the winner with the most correct choices will win the weekly $20 cash prize, in the event of a tie, the contestant that guesses the closest to the combined tie breaker score will be the week’s winner. (Example: Muleshoe 9 vs. Dalhart 24, tie breaker score is 33.)
The player with the most correct choices at the end of regular season will win the grand prize of $100. So we encourage you to play every week to increase your chances of being the overall winner of the 2019 Football Contest.
