At the regularly scheduled meeting Sept. 16, the Muleshoe ISD Board of Trustees discussed appointing a local patron to replace Kurt Miller for Board Position 3. Miller resigned at the August meeting.
Seven community members applied to serve on the Muleshoe ISD Board of Trustees.
“After prayerful discussion and thought, the board appointed Jeff King to Board Position 3,” said Dr. R.L. Richards, MISD superintendent.
King will be sworn in at the regular meeting on Monday, Oct. 21.
A 2001 graduate of Muleshoe High School, King received a degree from Wayland Baptist University in Occupational Education in 2009. His wife Suzanne is the director of CTE (Career and Technology Education) at Muleshoe High and is currently a part-time professor through Tech University in the Muleshoe Grow Your Own Grant from Texas Education Agency.
The Kings have two children enrolled in Muleshoe schools. Isla King is in first grade, and Rex King is enrolled in PreK.
“We congratulate Jeff King on his appointment,” Richards said.
