Muleshoe Police Department has purchased a new generator, thanks to a $23,000 grant from South Plains Association of Governments (SPAG).
“The generator is located behind the police department,” said Muleshoe Police Chief Gary McHone. “In case there are problems, it kicks on and keeps the radio and other systems running.”
Since the old generator still works, the police department has donated it to Bailey County EMS.
A local electric company is expected to hook up the new generator system within a week.
