A special presentation to honor veterans will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in the Muleshoe High School auditorium.
Muleshoe High School band and choir will play and sing patriotic numbers, and veterans will speak, according to Belinda Head, Muleshoe High School counselor and program organizer.
“One of our staff is the spouse of a veteran,” Head said. “Val McCamish, the family and consumer sciences teacher, will give us her point-of-view.”
A YouTube video about the history of Veterans Day will be shown, and the 2019 Veterans Day Proclamation will be read.
“We’ll also honor the veterans by having them stand up,” Head said. “Afterwards, we’ll have a small reception with coffee, juice and snacks. Some members of the senior class will visit with the veterans.”
Muleshoe High School honors the Veterans with an assembly every year.
“We need to always remember the veterans who offered their time and, in some cases, made the ultimate sacrifice to keep us a free nation,” Head said.
Head’s first husband, a member of the Air Force, was killed in an aircraft accident. Her sons have careers in the Air Force and the Army. Her father served in the Navy.
