Graveside service for Virginia Faye Nelson Kirk, age 89, of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Muleshoe Memorial Park with Jene Wilton of Muleshoe officiating.
Our sweet Virginia danced her way into Heaven’s Gate to be with Jesus and her family and friends, who where waiting to welcome her home. Our Mom and Grandma was born in the home of George and Pink Nelson in Muleshoe, Texas on May 9, 1930. She grew up in Muleshoe, graduated high school, met her husband, Dargin Kirk, and married there on November 22, 1948. They had three children; Donna, Jean and Joe, who were the light of their lives. They farmed in Goodland, Texas and eventually moved to Farwell, Texas. She was an excellent seamstress and homemaker, who kept the cleanest house in town. Virginia also liked a good debate (argument), any of which she never lost. It is often said, never to ask her opinion about something unless you were ready to hear her version of the truth. She was a life long member of the Methodist Church; who loved the Lord and served Him always. Family was everything to her and she loved all of them very much. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, her husband, Atlas Dargin Kirk, and her beloved son, Joe.
Virginia leaves behind two daughters, Donna Ratledge and her husband, George of Clovis, NM and Jean Meeks and her husband, Greg of Alto, NM; her grandchildren, Jared Dosher and his wife, Suzanne and their girls, Savannah and Matti Dosher of Clovis, NM, Danielle Dosher and her children, Trinity and Hendrix of Spring, TX, Ashley Pipkin and her husband, Chris and their daughter, Ayden of Clovis, NM, Jeremy Meeks and his wife, Dawne and their children, Chloe, Tucker, Charles and Henry of Abilene, TX, Cory Meeks and his wife, Lindsey of Austin, TX, and Casey Meeks and his wife, Corinna and their daughter, Evie of Alto, NM; also three wonderful sister-in-laws, Pat Kirk of Muleshoe, TX, Carolyn Wallace of Midland, TX and Jeanette Petroff of Palm Desert, CA; and many nephews, nieces and friends, all of whom she loved dearly.
The family wishes to thank all those caregivers who so faithfully attended her in these past weeks, especially those at Muleshoe Area Medical Center and Legacy of Life Hospice in Littlefield, TX.
