Muleshoe City Secretary Zanea Carpenter swears in new MISD Board of Trustees members Kevin Morris, Jeff King, Jesus Tovar Jr. and Curtis Preston.

Following the May 2 school district election, the newly elected MISD Board of Trustees members were sworn in at the March 11 meeting.
Muleshoe City Secretary Zanea Carpenter swore in Kevin Morris, Jeff King, Jesus Tovar Jr. and Curtis Preston with the oath of office as board members Jay Cage, Ashley Turnbow and Sergio Leal looked on.
Also present at the meeting were Dani Heathington, assistant superintendent, and Lisa Whalin, business manager.
After the swearing in, the annual election of officers was held. The leadership of the board during the 2020-2021 school year remains unchanged with Curtis Preston, president; Sergio Leal, vice president; and Ashley Turnbow, secretary.
