The Muleshoe Independent School District was awarded a GiRL (Girls in Real Life) Power Rural Support Community Grant from the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health. This is the second year MISD has received the grant to help in their efforts developing initiatives which meet community needs for students. Much like the 2019 event, the program will be for girls enrolled in Muleshoe ISD’s fifth through eighth grades and their mother or female role model. The committee is working to finalize the date, select a fun theme, and choose speakers/topics based on 2019 survey responses. Dani Heathington said, “We look forward to hosting a special day for our girls and their role models again in the coming school year. The Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health is a joy to work with, and we look forward another fun and informative event.” More information will be available during 2020-2021 school registration.
