Muleshoe Chamber of Commerce has announced that the Annual July 4 Parade and celebration will take place.
In an online flyer, the Chamber invites Muleshoe citizens to:
“Come on out and enjoy our ‘A Day of Honor’ 4th of July celebration! We will be kicking the day off with our parade at 10 a.m. beginning down Main Street. Followed by vendors set up all along American Blvd for you to enjoy your favorite lunch or shopping! The night will then end with a firework display at the New West Side City Park! Muleshoe Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture STRONGLY encourages the practicing of social distancing throughout the day’s events. We hope you make plans to attend this with us!”
According to a Facebook post by Chamber Director Andrea Alfaro, vendors will not be set up by the Courthouse after the Parade, but will instead be set up all along American Blvd. Registration for the Parade and for vendors will be taken through July 2. Those who are interested may contact Alfaro at 806-272-4248.
“We’re really excited to be able to do this event still,” Alfaro said. “I’m so happy we were able to get with Ramon Sanchez and work with the city and plan something safe and fun for y’all in spite of all this COVID mess, and we hope y’all make plans to join us.
At the Muleshoe City Council meeting on June 8, City Manager Ramon Sanchez said that vendors will be open, but there will be no activities at the Courthouse. Also, candy will not be thrown during the parade.
“Hopefully, people will practice safety guidelines and put a little distance between them,” Sanchez said. “We felt like (the parade) was something we needed to do.”
The schedule follows:
9 a.m. Parade Line Up South Main Street
10 a.m. Parade Begins
11 a.m. Come out and enjoy your favorite vendors down American Blvd.
Dark:30 Firework Show at New West City Park
