Two more people have died of COVID-19-related complications in Bailey County.
The deceased individuals include a 62-year-old woman and an 87-year-old woman. The deaths mark the third and fourth for the county.
The deaths were announced in the same news release from Bailey County that noted that the cases at Parkview Nursing Care Center seem to have been detected in time.
“Based on the results so far, we are cautiously optimistic that we may have caught it before many were exposed,” reads the statement released by on the Bailey County Courthouse Facebook page Thursday night. “However, these findings are very preliminary, and it will take some time until we are able to have a complete picture.”
It’s also noted that the Bailey County Courthouse, the Justice of the Peace and the County Attorney’s offices will be closed for deep cleaning on Friday as a precaution against a possible exposure. The offices are anticipated to reopen on Sunday.
“At this time, we have no reason to believe that the public was exposed,” the statement reads.
A total of 31 active cases and 133 recoveries were reported in the county.
