A bus driver and two kids were transported for minor injuries after a multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus just outside of Muleshoe on Tuesday.
The crash was reported just after 4:40 p.m. on U.S. Highway 84 west of Muleshoe.
A Department of Public Safety officially said the school bus was stopped on the eastbound side of the highway unloading passengers when a tractor trailer traveling east failed to control its speed and collided with two passenger vehicles before hitting the bus.
The red lights on the bus were activated and there were a passenger car and a passenger van stopped behind it. Preliminary investigations indicate the semi failed to control its speed and collided with the van and the car before striking the bus.
The semi driver and occupants in the car and the van were not injured.
DPS, Bailey County Sheriff’s Office and the Muleshoe Police Department were all assisted with the scene.
