A Muleshoe woman is dead following a crash that occurred just outside of Muleshoe Saturday night.

Anna Cruz Ramirez, 39, was traveling east on U.S. Highway 70 approaching County Road 93 and struck a metal fence when her vehicle crossed the roadway.

A preliminary report from the Texas Department of Public Safety shows the crash occurred seven miles west of Muleshoe in clear and dry conditions.

Ramirez was wearing a seatbelt and died of injuries sustained. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of 11:20 p.m., the roadway has been cleared but the crash remains under investigation. It’s unclear why the vehicle left the road.
