Nettes suffer tough week with losses to both Fillies, Coyotes

The Sudan Nettes lost their road game on Friday against the Shallowater Fillies, 61-36.
With the loss, the Nettes fell to 2-7 overall on the season.
Shallowaterjumpedoutto a 17-6 lead in the first quarter and added 21 points in the second frame to take a 38-13 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Nettes posted 12 points in the third quarter and 11 points in the fourth quarter but fell short against the Fillies.
Junior Addison Boehning led the team in scoring with 13pointstogoalongwithfour rebounds, four assists and one block, while sophomore Sydney Cornelius added 7 points, four rebounds and one assist.
Senior Zoey Cantu tallied 6 points, two rebounds and three assists, while sophomore Braelyn Pointer contributed 4 points and three rebounds.
Sophomore Gracyn Shultz tallied 4 points, three rebounds and three assists, and sophomoreKambry Tolbert finished with 2 points and two rebounds.
The Nettes hosted Lockney on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Friday with a home game against Ropes.
Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m.
Sudan stumbles vs. Borden County
The Nettes suffered a loss on Dec. 1at Rip GriffinCenter in Lubbock against Borden County, 65-51.
With the loss, the Nettes fell to 2-6 overall on the season.
Borden County jumped out to a 14-7 lead in the first frame and outscored the Nettes, 16-11, in quarter number two to take a 30-18 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Out of the break, Sudan poured in 16 points in the third quarter and outscored Borden County, 17-15, in the fourth quarter, but they fell short in their comeback efforts.
They were led in scoring by juniorAddison Boehning, who finished with 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals, while sophomore Gracyn Shultz posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds to go along with four assists, three steals and three blocks.
Sophomore Sydney Cornelius chipped in 8 points, five rebounds and two steals, while sophomore Braelyn Pointer tallied eight rebounds, 4points, twoassists, two steals and one block. SophomoreKambryTolbert,contributed 2 points, four rebounds and one assist.
