Several injuries reported after bus crash in Bailey County

Four children and three adults were injured Wednesday after a school bus crash in Bailey County.
A vehicle driven by Latisha Bibbs struck a Muleshoe ISD school bus driven by Ceferino Sierra, Jr.
A preliminary report from the Texas Department of Public Safety shows the crash was reported at 12:51 p.m. at the intersection of the westbound lane of Highway U.S. 84 east of County Road 103 near Progress in Bailey County.
Conditions were clear and dry when a GMC Acadia SUV occupied by Latisha Bibbs and Jaynee Bibbs and traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 84 entered the center median, struck a metal “Do Not Enter” sign and crossed a metal culvert before reaching the CR 103 intersection. The bus was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 84 when the SUV made a side skid through both westbound lanes and struck the bus on the right side.
There were four students aboard the bus – all minors. They were transported to Muleshoe Area Hospital for possible minor injuries. Sierra sustained minor injuries.
Latisha Bibbs was transported to Muleshoe Area Hospital. Her injuries are unknown. Jaynee Bibbs, who was a passenger in Latisha’s vehicle, was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock via Aerocare with serious injuries.
It’s noted that this is a preliminary report. The investigation into this crash is ongoing.
