The Castro County Historical Commission will unveil and dedicate the Big Square Historical Marker on July 31 at 10 a.m. The marker site is at the intersection of Highway 145 and FM 503 in southwestern Castro County. The marker was a vision of David Wyer of Muleshoe, the great grandson of Marcus Stiles who came to Texas in 1907 to purchase land which was part of the XIT ranch. The marker is to be placed on what is now part of the Raybern Ott farm.
