Muleshoe Country Club’s Ladies Association met July 21 for their July luncheon.

This month’s hostesses were Sherri Shipman and Brenna Shipman. The meal was chicken salad, Hawaiian rolls, chips and dips and a tray with an assortment of vegetables, crackers and cheeses. Watermelon cupcakes and sliced watermelon were served for dessert.

President Pat Kirk called the meeting to order and Donna Glover said the prayer. Linda Erdmann followed by calling roll and reading the minutes. There were 14 members present and two guests – Shelly Turnbow and Cayden Dalton, granddaughter of Christie Whitt.

Teresa Lingnau gave the treasurer’s report, then Pat announced that we had three July birthdays: Pat Kirk, Brenna Shipman and Marlene Martin. Pat added that Jana St. Clair and Teresa Lingnau would be hostesses for August.

Hi Plains representative Treena Matthews took the floor and informed the members that the next playday will be August 11 at Palo Duro Creek golf course in Canyon. Tammy reported that plans for the Jennyslipper were going great and that we had a full field of entrants.

Next, the president called for the playday reports. Deborah Noble, playday chairman for golf, awarded a prize to the team consisting of Kay Field, Pat Kirk and Treena Matthews. Card chairman Donna Glover then presented her prizes as follows: for Shanghai – June 16, Christie Whitt; June 23, June Hunt; June 30, Helen Templeton; July 7, Jeanetta Precure; July 14, June Hunt; for card game of GOLF, Christie Whitt, June 30; Sherrie Shipman, July 7; and Pat Kirk, July 14.

Rounding out the meeting, Kay Field held the drawing for the door prize and Tammy Black was the winner. Pat then adjourned the meeting for an afternoon of card playing.
