In May, City of Muleshoe voters elected new member Steve Clifton and re-elected Sergio Leal to the MISD Board of Trustees.

Superintendent R.L. Richards and assistant superintendent Dani Heathington released the following set of goals determined by the Board of Trustees for the 2021-2022 School Year.

Muleshoe ISD Goals 2021-2022

  1.  MISD will develop programs to encourage a partnership between the parents and school to increase academic achievement by the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
  1. In 80 percent of lesson plans and teacher walk-throughs, the Teach Like a Champion checklist will be implemented by teachers to address critical thinking and problem-solving skills in instruction.
  1. MISD will increase the percentage of students to 50 percent scoring at the Meets Level or a 10 percent cohort increase from the previous year’s scores which were above 50 percent on the STAAR Test.
  • MISD will integrate a staff development program consisting of one Teach Like a Champion strategy being taught every six weeks with at least 80 percent implementation observed, monitored and documented.
