Lubbock Christian University will host Jason Nutt & Highway 70 for an album pre-release party on Sept. 23.  

Nutt, a Floydada native, is a singer and songwriter that grew up playing music. He formed his current band while being a student at LCU in 2008.  

The event is to promote the band’s upcoming gospel album. It will include a President’s Circle Gala, a meet and greet with Nutt, a dinner and an intimate acoustic performance in the LCU Baker Conference Center.  

Following the event, the full band will perform a concert in the McDonald Moody Auditorium as a Back-to-School Bash for LCU students.  

The band released two albums before taking a break in 2012 but came back together in 2018. The new album is expected to feature old gospel hymns, some cover songs from other artists and other original music.  

Tickets for the pre-release can be purchased at Premier tables of eight can be purchased for $500 with individual tickets available for $50. Proceeds will benefit the LCU Student Scholarship Fund and the event will be presented by Rock Solid Athletics.
