The deadline to apply for a Community Outdoor Outreach Program (CO-OP) grant through the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (PWD) is Nov. 1.

The grants are designed to help tax-exempt organizations for programs that engage under-represented audiences with mission-oriented activities. Grants help support community-based conservation and outdoor recreation activities such as archery, fishing, camping, hiking, hunting, nature education and more.

The TPWD established the CO-OP in 1996. Since then, it was awarded more than $22 million in outdoor exploration grants. Grant awards range between $5,000 and $60,000. Funds can be used to support personnel, training, travel, food, park fees and program supplies.

Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. CST on Nov. 1. For more information and to apply, visit https://tpwd.texas.gov/business/grants/recreation-grants/community-outdoor-outreach-program-co-op-grants.
