Zeta Rho and Xi Omicron Xi chapters of Beta Sigma Phi met Monday, October 18, in the home of Brenna Burch for their annual Octoberfest night that always combines both chapters of the sorority.

The group ventured outside to the vineyard for a discussion of some of the details and issues of making a vineyard a success and the business decisions they deal with.

Co-hostesses Brenna Burch, Pat Angeley, Linda Wood, and Candace Weaver started the evening with a wine tasting of wines made from Burch Family Vineyards grapes. A Riesling, Rousanni, Pinot Noir, and Tempranillo were tasted and pallets cleared with a variety of cheeses, crackers, and lunch meats. Brenna discussed the differences in red and white wines and foods that go best with each wine.

The hostesses then served dinner of sherried chicken breasts, yellow squash casserole, and fresh chopped salad. Dessert of Ooey Gooey Pumpkin cake with whipped cream and pear tart were served for dessert.

The door prize of a pumpkin made of grape vines was won by Sandi Chitwood.

Member s enjoyed lots of visiting and laughter and were in no hurry to end the evening while

Char Phillips shared some of her Cabi clothing for those interested in adding to their wardrobe.

Members present for the meeting were Brenna Burch, Cindy Barrett, Vicki Black, Sandi Chitwood, Pat Young, Sheila Stevenson, Melba King, Linda Wood, Alice Liles, Judy Davenport, Pat Angeley, and Char Phillips.
