The Museum of Texas Tech University currently has an exhibit honoring Louise Hopkins Underwood’s legacy and fashion.

“Louise Hopkins Underwood: Lubbock Woman Who Improved Her Community and Looked Terrific Doing It!” will be on display through Spring 2022.

The Underwood exhibit will showcase garments she wore throughout her life for various social occasions and meetings improving cultural opportunities for the city of Lubbock.

This is an inaugural exhibit for the museum. The designated exhibit space will now be used to display the 35,000 objects from the museum’s clothing and textiles collection, the largest at a university museum in the United States, according to the news release about the exhibit. There are plans to exhibit two shows per year in the new gallery space.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays. It is closed Mondays.

For additional information, follow the museum on Facebook and Instagram and/or visit www.museum.ttu.edu.
