The Department of Transportation will start work next week on sidewalks and curb ramps along various roadways in Swisher, Floyd and Castro Counties, weather permitting.  

TxDOT will make updates to reach compliance with the latest Americans with Disabilities Act standards in Floydada, Hart and Tulia.  

Daytime shoulder and outside lane closures are anticipated along the work zones. Drivers are encouraged to slow down in the following areas.  

Work is scheduled to start on FM 1318 on Airport Road in Tulia on Oct. 8. The work will include improvements on: FM 1318 from US 87 to FM 146; SH 86 from US 87 to S. Jackson St.; US 87 from FM 1318 to SH 86; and FM 146 from FM 1318 to SH 86. 

Projects in Hart include FM 168 from Ave. A to Railroad Ave. 

Projects in Floydada include FM 784 from N. Texas Ave. to US 70.  

Other roads included in the project are US 62 from CR 260 to US 70 and US 70 from Texas St. to FM 246.  

Ti-Zak Concrete, Inc. from LeCenter, Minnesota, is the contractor.  

Work is anticipated to wrap by late July 2022.
