Due to a limited supply, Covenant Children’s is seeking donations of crutches.

The hospital is looking for new or gently-used aluminum crutches or walkers. There’s a specific needs for medium-sized crutches that are provided for patients between 5-foot-2 and 5-foot-10.

Crutches can be dropped off in the lobby of Covenant Children’s – which is located at 4000 24th St. – until Dec. 10. Donated crutches will be first inspected and thoroughly sanitized before being repurposed for use by new patients.

Patients are sometimes given crutches when leaving Pediatric ICU, Day Surgery and Emergency Rom. Those patients typical suffer from sports injuries, broken legs/ankles/feet, tumor resections, limb anomalies, infections, snake bites, ATV accidents and more.
