The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ came up short on Monday in their game at Plains against the Cowgirls, 55-38.

With the loss, the Lady Wolverines fall to 2-3 overall on the season.

Plains jumped out to a, 15-8, lead in the first quarter, but the Lady Wolverines would rally back to outscore the Cowgirls, 11-10, in the second quarter, behind 12 first-half points from senior, Sayler Beerwinkle. They trailed the Cowgirls, 25-19, going into the locker room at halftime.

Junior, Halee Toscano, poured in nine points, but Springlake-Earth was outscored in the third quarter, 18-12, making the score, 43-31, going into the final quarter of play. Plains netted 12 points in the final frame to take the contest, 55-38.

Toscano led the team in scoring with 15 points, while Beerwinkle tallied 14 points. Emma Samaron chipped in six points, while Taytum Goodman added two points and Micaela Fuentes finished with one point.
