The announcement was made via news release this week but Loweke has been in the role since Oct. 4.
The hospital is an affiliate of UMC and Encompass Health. Loweke will oversee its day-to-day operations of the 66-bed inpatient rehab facility, which is located at 5406 Colgate St. in Lubbock.
